A pair of novelty socks or an automatic spaghetti fork twizzler – you’d rather have a pint surely? Drop your friends a helpful hint this year and send a picture of GUINNESS from your phone.
Download an app called ‘Blippar’. This automatically switches on the camera, and activates a whole load of Christmas decorations when you point it at a pint of GUINNESS. You can adorn your favourite pint with a classic piece of Xmas décor – and finish it off with a ribbon tied around the glass, or can. You can even add some falling snow as a final touch.
Once you’re happy with your creation, it’s time to take that picture – and pass it around. Share it on your Wall, or to all your followers, as long as they’re of legal drinking age. They’ll get the message!

Now it’s time for the “how to”
So here’s a quick run-through of the steps needed for your festive GUINNESS image. The whole thing isn’t at all complicated. You just have to buy a pint or can and point your phone at the GUINNESS logo, in Blippar mode.
Step 1: On your iOS5 or Android device download the free Blippar app from the App store.
Step 2: Open it up – you’ll immediately be in 'blipp camera' mode.
Step 3: Point your phone at the delicious pint or can of GUINNESS that you’re about to enjoy, making sure you hold it over the harp and GUINNESS wording. Also, ask for your GUINNESS to be served in a branded glass, otherwise the magic won’t be about to take place…
Step 4: Your GUINNESS festive pint is activated! Now it’s up to you how you want to decorate it.
Step 5: Drag and drop decorations from the menu at the foot of the app. Scroll along the carousel for options. On the right hand side of the app, there is an additional toolbar where you can also create special effects such as a lovely wintery scene.
Step 6: When you are happy with the look of your festive pint, simply snap a photo of it with the camera option or share on your wall to friends or followers on your feed.
You can also save to your phone to have as wallpaper – it sits in your camera roll and can SMS it for a really direct hint. Use it on iPhone, iPad and Android (selected handsets only).
